We learn everyday as they say and as we see. We all have a developing habit, just that some of us have a really fast developing habits while others have a really slow developing habits. Habits formed can be improved on and at some point when necessary can be discarded. I'm very good at learning new things but it gets hard to learn something when I don't know want to.
As a girl, I watched my dad do most of the chores in the house before going to work. Though I was little then but I never enjoyed seeing him do all the stuff for my siblings and I (I kept praying to be a grown up soon). I remember there was this faithful day when my dad woke up earlier than usual because we already started schooling and he didn't wanted us to go late. I woke up because I heard my dad singing while he was doing everything all by himself.
I went to him, greeted him and told him I wanted to help, you know what my dad said, he said I should go back and rest. Now I'm almost crying, lol. Well, I'm so strong headed so I refused. All I could do was just keep him company and see how he does the things he was doing. Ever since then, I always try my best to start doing most of the chores in the house before my dad returns back from work.
My dad is a really hardworking person and I admire him so much for that, most of the things I do today I learned from him. I learned how to do the laundry from him because he was so good at it and I also learned how to cook too from him. My Dad had a really great influence on most of my habits right from when I was a little girl.
Over time, I got so use to doing the chores at home, simple put, I love getting things done just like my Papa. It's already a habit of mine to always make sure my environment is tidy and when it's not it does drive me crazy. There are some times when I don't feel too strong to keep my environment clean but I suffer for it too because it's already an habit.
When I wake up, the first thing that comes to mind is what I can do to make my day better. I most times go online first but that makes me get too lazy to do anything at home. So now even when I have so much to do online, I just always make sure to do most of my offline duties first. As a content creator on hive, there are times when I have some set goals to achieve but then I don't meet up because I still have my offline goals to achieve.
There are so many benefits of doing the things I do the way I do them but it's funny that I never really saw these benefits myself until I saw this prompt...
I always prioritize my offline duties more because whenever I do that I feel more fulfilled and satisfied. Seeing that everything is in the place they ought to be gives me this satisfaction that is almost next to none especially when I know I was part of the reasons it was possible.
Doing things the way I do them also gives me the motivation to do so many other things. This morning I woke up quite late and the first thing I did was the laundry even when I had a goal I needed to achieve on hive and I don't regret it at all because I've been able to achieve my offline goal!
The fact that I know I prefer to prioritize my offline goals first also gives me more reasons to be creative and dynamic. If I had prioritize my online goals more, I'd be lacking so much in many things and that would have been so not beneficial to me.
I do love most of the way I do things but then I must admit there are also quite some things that I need to improve on and I'm going to keep working towards improve them and make my habits more beneficial to me and also to others as well.
That would be all for now, I do hope to get your feedback at the comment section. And don't forget, this is my response to the prompt for this week in the minimalist community, feel free to share what your response on the prompt 👇
