Pain. Lying in my bed typing out my entry for this week’s #kiss, the first simple sensation I noticed is the pain I feel just below my abdomen. A pain that reminds me of what is inevitable and unstoppable.
This pain is revealing the reality that I must face both as a lady and as a human being. Feeling pains like this, I see it as a sign of how strong I can become even in my weakness. This pain reveals so much that I never thought possible and my ability to persevere hardship.
This pain reminds me that I can just keep going even when the going gets tough. It tells me that even in the face of setbacks, I have hope of getting through it. And one more thing, it reveals how nothing truly lasts forever and the possibilities of change.
In the face of pain, one necessary changes that can have a positive influence on my life is ACCEPTANCE. When we feel pain, we are often forced to feel rejected and discouraged. We think all the negative things possible but then, the moment we accept the pain, everything changes and suddenly becomes a lot bearable.
For me, I see every little setback, in this case pain, as a sign of change. A need for acceptance and improvement. Most pains we feel, changes how we see things depending on whether or not we accept it. It depends on our acceptance because the moment we accept it, we start finding need to understand the pain and seeking to know why we might be suffering such pains. If we listen very well, we get the opportunity to prepare better for such pains and not be taken by surprise the next time it happens.
But the truth remains, pain is never something that won’t be felt but accepting it like I said, just helps us manage it better. Denial never helps. It gives my body the signal to always be at alert and ready because I already know that nothing is certain. It is only after acceptance that we can know to administer a pain relief medication or a natural therapy to ease our pain.
Our bodies are always passing different informations in seconds as it interacts with its environment both externally and internally. So tonight, I’m just going to listen closely to it, so I can understand better what my body truly needs and how I ought to go about it.
How we respond to things around us usually speaks of how much of a good listeners we are to our bodies. And also, how well we pay attention to the tiniest things.
This is my entry for the #kiss. Thank you for reading through. 💜
