I miss having a garden, but what I really like to grow is herbs. Just yesterday I went looking for compost and seeds, but I will have to order seeds online.
I've learned to recognize when plants are thirsty because their leaves droop, showing signs of exhaustion
It took me a while to understand "plant language" too. Sometimes I'm not sure if I water them too much. For example, basil: books say to water it every other day or when the soil feels dry, but I normally do mine every day and my basil flourishes.
