Exploring various activities to balance and stabilise my mood has always been an enlightening journey for me. Engaging in these mindful chases has become a sanctuary amidst life's turbulence. I don't like things troubling my mind which could ruin my mood for the day but life happens and we cannot predict what might happen next. That is why we must be ready to deal with those negativities immediately before they creep into our mind, taking control of our mood which in turn destabilised our system. We will end up becoming unproductive for the day if we cannot find something like therapy to curb whatever it is that is making things seem futile.
In cases where I need something to clear off my mood and give me the calmness I need, there are list of activities that have proven to work effectively for me and give me joy that transcends all other things.
Nature walk
If there is something I ever found out two years ago to help clear those worries trying to creep into my mood, it is by taking a walk around nature. Embarking on a nature walk reveals a symphony of healing benefits as it acts as a steadfast anchor stabilising moods. I just left the village yesterday and I feel that something has left me. I wish I could continue to stay in the village for a while because of how refreshing nature is and how it can cure whatever bad mood I may have.
Each morning, I step out into nature as I take a walk around the whole compound, surrendering myself to the warmth and tranquillity that being around nature brings. Even if I am having a bad mood, taking on this journey helps to heal me to avoid any wrong occurrence that may happen throughout the day. With this activity, I have been able to caution, control and refrain from any bad decisions around the house and it is something helpful in giving me the coolest mood ever. If you ever notice something which I have, a nature walk transcends the mere physical of strolling; it becomes a transformative journey of the spirit.
Eating
Someone will ask: is eating an activity? Yes, it is. While eating might seem like a routine or necessity, the way we approach eating is something one needs to take cognizance of, like mindful consumption, being intentional about the choice of food etc are what makes eating an activity. When it comes to mood stability, food is my go-to especially one I am mindful of. I have discovered that being conscious of how I eat and making it a habit serves as a gateway to balancing my mood and stabilising it.
Nourishing the body with wholesome, foods that are rich in nutrients provides a foundation for emotional balance. Delving into a balanced diet of foods that are rich in fruits, vegetables, proteins and whole grains fosters a stable blood sugar level and prevents erratic mood swings. I don't joke with good food when I have already discovered how it helps the mood to be calm and healthy and so, it is something I am always conscious of and intentional about.
Breathing
When it comes to breathing as an activity in this regard, I call it: harnessing the power of mindful respiration for mood stabilisation. Do you know that in the rhythmic dance of inhales and exhales lies an extraordinary tool for stabilising our mood? This has proven so effective to me and it is what I engage in to calm my mood and give me a positive mindset to any situation surrounding me. Breathing may seem like a simple activity but what it does is more than just inhaling and exhaling, but the intentional regulation of breath stands as a gateway to inner tranquillity; that is the reason I don't joke with breathing first to calm my mood before I take on a wrong decision that may ruin lots of things for me.
These are some of the activities I engage in to balance and stabilise my mood and they are effective for our mind and give long-lasting relief.
