Scrolling through one of my favorite communities post prompts for the week, the #minimalist community, I saw that this weeks prompt was tagged all about yourself, and when I read through the questions for the week, i got all giddy and excited. I chose question one
What is your minimalist daily beauty regime for morning and bed time.? Benefits of your regime?, what tips will you give for a weekly or monthly schedule?
Now if you know me well you would know that I am one person who takes pride in taking great care of my skin. I love to pamper my skin and feed it healthy. I love that glow that not only comes from using the right healthy product for your skin but a glow that radiates from within onto the surface.
For me a great skin doesn’t only
Come from using skin care products or having a regime it is three things for me, now I am no skin care expert or specialist but this are personal tips amd advice from my skin care specialist;
1.Eating right and drinking lots of water;
I have found this to be a very useful tip and good and healthy skin isn’t only about what and what product you apply, but 50 percent of achieving a good and healthy skin is from what is on the inside. So eat right and drink lots of water. I know when people say water is the secret of their skin glow these days it’s almost as if they are avoiding telling the secret of their skin glow, I tell you today that I personally find that tip to be very true (as a big water drinker myself) and a great accomplice to a healthy great skin.
2.consistency;
Once I find a product or a set of products that work for me, I stick to it and work with those products. My sister on the other hand isn’t always very patient with products, she tests a product on her skin for two to three days and once it’s not producing her desired result she finds a new product to buy and jumps ship immediately. And after a few days of trying that new products she either breaks out or complains the product isn’t working.
I have told her time and time again to always be patient and consistent with what ever product she uses but I think at this point, she is already too deep into random product testing.
Most times using a product for too long can be futile in the long run. My skin care specialist would say, your skin gets too familiar with a product that it may stop yielding the certain result it is meant to give. To avoid that from happening alway make sure to take a few days break at intervals with what ever product set you use. Allow your skin to breathe on its own for a few days before resuming

3.know your skin type
I have a very sensitive skin, my skin is the type that skin care specialist or dermatologist need to use for testing. What ever product I use gives a minimum of 24 hours review. It’s that sensitive. So if I use a bad product say at night before bedtime, I see the result as soon as I wake up. A pimple, boil, discoloration etc appears in the morning. For that reason I am extremely careful about what I use on my skin because I do not want to use anything harmful that would damage my skin. I go for the mildest most basic products, nothing too concentrated. Over time I know what product would be too harsh on my skin and this is because I have studied myself and consulted with a dermatologist to know that my skin doesn’t require too much product or harsh chemicals mixing.

Most person do not know their skin type or what they need to feed their skin with. They see what Tom,dick and Harry says they are using for their skin and boom they buy it and start using. Some persons bad skin conditions might even be hormonal related, but they do not know this because they haven’t taken out time to study and know their skin types.
MY SKIN CARE REGIME
I won’t say I have numerous number of products I use on a daily but I do my best to be consistent with the product I have discovered works well with and for my skin.
MORNING REGIME;
After a good bath with my extract papaya Soap, this isn’t an organic soap, it’s papaya nature sits well with my skin.
I go in with my body butter or my moisturizer. Now my moisturizer is a must for me, apart from the fact that it contains a good amount of SPF(sunscreen) it keeps my skin hydrated always, while my body butter prevents my skin from getting dry. Sometimes when I have the time or feel like it, I apply both of them but some days i choose one to rub during the day and the other at night.

After which I apply my face toner on a small Cotton pad and clean through my face with it.
I then apply my rose water, I like to spray it on my face during the day and apply to a cotton pad and clean through my face at night.
I go in next with my vitamin c serum, a must, I repeat a must. My face doesn’t do well without my vitamin c serum and so I make sure never to run out of it.
I apply my moisturizer next, I don’t have a special face moisturizer so I use the one I use for my body, all moisturizers do the same work jare. (Lol).
And finally my SPF, also known as sunscreen. If you haven’t personally suffered sun burn before you won’t take using a sunscreen seriously till you experience a sun burn. Bad thing about sun burns is that it doesn’t clear off easily or fast enough. So rather than go through that stress of seeing my skin burnt and black and damaged, I choose to apply my sunscreen generously. Please use your sunscreen always.
NIGHT REGIME;
I don’t do much at night, this is because night products work faster, when your pores and skin is at rest.
So I only apply my rose water on a cotton pad as a cleanser to my face
2.Then I apply my vitamin c serum
again.
3.I apply my face cream. My face cream is organic and it is mean to help achieve a smooth bright face.
WEEKLY REGIME
I know at this point you might be thinking to yourself, all this plenty talk for skin care?. But if you are a lover of good healthy skin, you would understand that skin care requires a lot of patients and consistency. My partner knows that no matter what even if I am sick and in the hospital I must do my night and day regime, I am that committed to it.
For a weekly regime, I do only two things. I scrub twice a week, face and body and I use my face mask or sheet.
my body scrub
Twice a week I choose two days which I scrub my body generously. I use a body scrub and a face scrub. Now unless your scrub says for face and body, do not go using a body scrub for your face. A face scrub in my experience is always milder than a body srub. A harsh face scrub would irritate your face and cause it to be sensitive and peppery.
After srubing my face, I go in with my face mask. Scrubbing the skin helps to shed dead skin cells and opens my pores up to absorb moisturizer better and uncloggs pores.
For my monthly regime I make sure to visit the spa once every two to three months as recommended by my dermatologist.
Please always consult your skincare specialist before using any product. Don’t be like my sister. Stop random product testing on your skin.
