If workaholic was said to be a person, I would proudly give it to my dad. He works tirelessly and he is always productive, but sometimes we plead with him to take a break and rest and stop treating his body like firewood.
I haven't really seen my father doing any work that doesn't yield some good results but the truth is, I still wouldn't adopt such a lifestyle or working ethic.
I am the exact opposite of my dad, I don't work so hard but I bet you that I always get my work done regardless and when necessary, and sometimes I do them effortlessly.
I am not the hard-working type, I prefer to do smart work than work my life out just so that I can be awarded the hardworking girl title, no! I don't want that at all.
I do things at my pace and my own frequency.
Sometimes I even dilly-dally but this doesn't stop me from being productive when and where necessary.
My mind is a network of so many things and at times it feels like I should possess some superpowers to do everything all at once but since I've got none, I always figure out what works best for me and stick to it. I don't mind wasting time on something so far I get them done and do them rightly.
You know that at times we tend to rush over some of our work and at the end of it, we might need to do that work all over again because of some mistakes or errors.
At times, our minds get disturbed trying to figure out how to do a particular thing, and I am one of those few people who have this disturbance and so because of this, I work best with a piece of music.
It sounds weird but it helps calm my mind when working. It makes me work with ease and gives me a bubbling spirit and energy to accomplish the tasks on my desk.
However, if I start singing along with the music and forgetting myself in the process, I would rather pause the music or take a few minutes break so as not to mess up my work. You know it happens at times that while trying to even improve our working system, we end up getting distracted by what was meant to help us stay motivated while working.
Again I am most effective during the early hours of the day, I don't know why this is so, but right from when I was a child, I realized my energy level when I just get up from bed can't be compared to the later hours of the day. Even when I study for an examination I do it in the early hours of the day. I am not the night reader or one who is most effective at night, I take my sleeping hour very seriously and if anything happens and I try to keep myself up or stay awake working, I will end up with little or no result at all and this is always bad, although most times I can't help but burn my candle or sacrifice that hour of sleep to try and achieve something.
However, the early hours work best for me. Between 3 AM to 7 or even 8 AM is when I work best effectively. I do everything to make sure that I sleep early enough so that I could wake up at this hour and be useful to myself and my life.
I even apply this technique to my blogging here on the hive platform as well, although not often but I realize that anytime I do this, it's always productive. My inspiration at times works best doing that time and so I will have something put up in my draft to edit later to my taste.
While others are busy sleeping and dreaming, my mind is busy telling me and showing me everything I could do at that hour and making it seem as though the output would be a good one. And because of that, I configured my system to work that way and it works best for me.
Did I mention food? preferably snacks though. I like munching something when working, it makes me forget that whatever I am doing at the moment is quite a lot of work or could reduce my energy level to zero. Munching snacks while working keeps me productive too lol.
These are just my personal work ethics.
