Gift giving is one of the five love languages and the most loved one too. Giving gifts is such an amazing way to show just how deeply you care about someone. I mean, think about it. There are certain gifts we would expect from certain people, and the gifts show how important the relationship between the gifter and receiver is.
For example, if you were to receive a gift from a supposed loved one, and they get you something lazy and impersonal, it might give you some insight into how little they pay attention to details.
Anyways, it does get tricky when a minimalist is involved. Let’s look at ten gifts perfect for minimalists.
When it comes to minimalistic gift-giving, experiences trump actual gifts all the time. I mean, being given the experience to witness a new situation will forever live in the mind and heart. It doesn’t bring clutter of any kind, and it makes you think fondly of the person responsible for it. It enhances your life rather than filling up space.
Some thoughtful experience-based gifts I would give and sincerely appreciate are spa vouchers. I have never been to a spa before, and I’m pretty sure I am long overdue for a session. So it is something I would really be grateful for. And depending on whom I were to be gifting, movie or concert tickets are an amazing gift idea.
As for gifts like food items, a meal ticket, or a date, those would be something that could leave people smiling whenever they reminisce.
My mum loves to have a hot cup of tea early in the morning; she has three different kinds of tea bags that she mixes together. Getting her an exotic and healthy tea would make a great gift. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, and when she’s finished, it’s all biodegradable, so trashing it should be easy.
For people that prefer to listen as opposed to reading an actual book, an audiobook subscription would be a thoughtful and convenient gift. Contrary to popular opinion, audiobooks actually get the job done faster, if I might add. For those of you who have book goals to achieve, this could help with it.
Now hear me out—plants! They make amazing gifts. They are low maintenance, give a sense of purpose, and bring peace and tranquility into a space. And let’s not forget the health effects; they infuse the atmosphere with fresh oxygen necessary for life. Of course, the recipient has to be ready for an additional responsibility.
Lastly, a completely unorthodox gift to give someone would be a pet. I’m speaking completely from a selfish standpoint. I used to have a parrot some years ago, courtesy of my dad. And let me tell you, forming a bond with a pet, more specifically a parrot, is one of the most indescribable feelings in the world.
It took me a whole month to gain its trust, but when I did, the love and loyalty we shared was precious. I’d recommend getting a bird; it doesn’t take much to care for it, it doesn’t need your constant attention, and it’s so cute and calming when needed.
And with these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to give you some gift ideas for that special person in your life.
Have a great day 🌙.
