On my Saturday walk along the coast, I stopped to observe the fishermen who had had an exceptional catch that morning. I usually see them with sardines and other small fish for bait, but they had a good catch. When I arrived they were negotiating the prices per pound of the barracuda they had caught and the occasional snapper, and that is not very common. Other characters were watching the scene as I was doing: the pelicans. They stand at a safe distance to wait for the fishermen to prepare the caught fish and when he throws them the leftovers, they approach slowly and once they have the "prey" in their beaks, launch themselves into the air as if they had some anti-gravity belt. I took advantage of the fact that I too was very close and only waited for my chance to capture them all, men and animals, in their daily activity.
En mi paseo sabatino por la costa, me detuve a observar los pescadores que esa mañana habían tenido una excepcional pesca. Normalmente les veo con sardinas y otros pescados pequeños que les sirven de carnada, pero tuvieron buena pesca. Cuando llegué estaban negociando los precios por libra de las barracudas que habían capturado y algún que otro pargo, y eso no es muy común. Otros personajes observaban la escena como lo estaba haciendo yo: los pelícanos. Se paran a distancia prudencial a esperar a que los pescadores preparen el pescado capturado y cuando éste les lanza las sobras, se acercan lentamente y una vez que tienen la "presa" en el pico, se lanzan al aire como si tuvieran algún resorte anti-gravedad. Aproveché que estaba muy cerca yo también y sólo esperé mi ocasión para capturarlos a todos, hombres y animales, en su actividad diaria.
