The Havana Art Biennial is a very attractive event to go out and take photos. The sculptures and performances are shown in various parts of the city and it is always surprising what springs from the artists' minds. Several years ago we went for a ride along the sidewalk of the Havana boardwalk and came across this exhibition in one of the small squares in the area of the wall that separates us from the Caribbean Sea. The sidewalk and the sculptures were bathed by the waves of that winter afternoon and I decided to take some long exposure shots, but on the other side of the avenue, to capture the things that were happening at a wide angle. I had to time it very well with the people and the car traffic that got in my way, but I think I got some good photos, which are the ones I'm sharing here.
La Bienal de Arte de La Habana es un evento muy atractivo para salir a hacer fotos. Las esculturas y los performances se muestran en diversos puntos de la ciudad y siempre sorprende lo que salta de las mentes de los artistas. Hace varios años salimos a caminar por la acera del malecón habanero y dimos con esta muestra en una de las pequeñas plazas que hay en el área del muro que nos separa del mar Caribe. La acera y las esculturas estaban bañadas por el oleaje de aquella tarde de invierno y decidí hacer algunas tomas de larga exposición, pero del otro lado de la avenida, para captar en ángulo ancho las cosas que iban sucediendo. Tenía que sincronizar muy bien con las personas y el tráfico de autos que se me interponía, pero creo que logré algunas fotos buenas, que son las que les comparto acá.
