The city I've been to today is one of the most visited spas in our country. Its history goes back to the year 214 when emperors such as Traian and Marcus Aurelius Antonius were visiting it for the healing thermal baths it hosts.
The name of Baile Herculane comes from Hercules himself who is told by the legends to have lived in this area... It's just legends, thus take this one with a grain of salt.
I'm not a big fan of the town because I don't like going to the spa too much. The waters over there are healing, that's no legend but a scientifically proven fact, but the smell of the waters is not my cup of tea.
I do however take my drinking water from over there and I do that for free. There's a place where you can fill your canteens with fresh 100% potable water that doesn't contain any fluoride or any other chemical that bottled water is filled with. I do that probably once a month.
My parents are in town now, they arrived about a week ago for vacation and "asked" for some family walk today... I couldn't say no, thus we drove to Baile Herculane, left the car in downtown, and "explored the area" a bit.
There's nothing new to us over there... We can say we got out of our town for the afternoon though, said hi to the Hercules statue, snapped a few photographs of the surroundings and trees, ate some traditional Romanian food, and got back home.
It rained for a while, luckily it was before and after we had our walk, thus it was so cloudy you couldn't even call it a summer day.
It was nice, though, spending some time with my old folks, walking for a bit, and breathing some of the "best fresh air" this area has to offer. That's about it for today, hope everyone is having a fantastic day, and see you in the next post.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
