I am a photography lover and amateur photographer who enjoys doing landscape and photo shootings specifically in black and white, I love creating concepts, representing stories and characters through e images, as well as capturing the beauty of nature, usually posing as a model on also taking myself the photos whenever I can, (sometimes I just can't I need a photographer that help me with it hehe)
Today in the month when we have the opportunity to wear costumes and have fun with them, I want to share with you the best photos I have while wearing special outfits or costumes that I noticed is also a progression and a sample of how my photographies have been evolving through the years, especially due to the change in accessible technologies, the locations, my own style, me as a model, my tastes, the photographers and how I have worked with it as well as how all those really matter on and their quality.
Every one of these has a little back story, were taken in different places (except for a few that were taken outside my house) and also were taken by different people that certainly did a great job capturing the theme and the moment.
My apologies If I only have one Picture of some of the photoshoting sessions, some of the images have been lost during the past years and I`m still searching for them or trying to recreate them.
Ready? Well, here we go!
Number 1. Dressed as the Persephone goddess
A rather simple costume that I made myself and used for Carnival during February of 2013, which is a national Holiday when we have days off, play with water and use costumes.
I chose to portray Persephone which isthe goddess of the underworld in Greek, mythology the wife of Hades and the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, I chose her because her story is one of my favourites in mythology and her aesthetic suits mine.
Was the first time I did a costume, and also the first time wearing one since I was a child, even my mom was super excited and were together for the fabric, that she also gifted it to me (Thanks Mom, love you 😊 ).
I did the dress myself and actually wasn't the shape I was thinking of in the first place, I was thinking on something like this at first:

The shape you will see on the image actually came out when I was trying the fabric on me to know how to cut it and I love it so I sewed it that way still on me, to not lose the shape (yes I have a weird way to sew, but it works, so...yeah XD, let's continue).....
Unfortunately, I only have one image of it that was taken by a friend with her phone, which I don't remember the model, but was a standard one for the year, actually with a good camera (during the day she used to take a lot of good photos with it). The photo was taken during the night, and even if you can't notice it, was taken in a women's bathroom in a mall, the wall worked pretty well with my theme in my opinion... Here it is:
Number 2: Casual Lolita Outfit
This is a costume AKA an Outfit That I wore at an anime convention, in August of 2013 for a contest although this kinda looks like a costume, is actually something you can wear to go out, Is a casual Lolita gothic outfit.
Lolita is a style born in Japan a few decades ago and was quite popular during the 2010s years and prior, right now it still is, but is less seen than before. Is very iconic and also quite popular in anime, for example, you can see it in characters like Misa from Death Note and Sakura Kinomoto from Sakura Card Captor, as well this style was super trendy a few years ago along with visual kei. here are a couple of illustrating images
The style is characterised by big heels, long socks, triangular skirts, usually fluffy and at the knee length. Is a style similar to what a Victorian doll would wear, you know, lace, hats and more, however, it has a lot of substyles that are opened more the concept.
This clothing was not easy to find back then especially if you were young and without many foundings like me, so, in addition to making complements with what I had on hand (like the hat you see here that I made just the night before the convention) I also used to use, as you see here, a simplified way of it, that is actually one of the substyles on it, is called casual lolita (later I will make a post about it because is a style super long to explain in detail but super interesting) here and image of a casual lolita

I'm still fond of this style and now that I can buy more stuff and have more options and funds than before I hope soon can do more photoshoots of me wearing it.
These images were taken with the camera of a friend, I don't remember the model either, but was a good handy camera back in that year.
Loved how in the convention centre there were so many old cars and a train that I certainly didn't let pass, unfortunately, I lost most of these photos on my previous computer if I get to find them one day I certainly will share them with you, were amazing. I played as a traveller and was super cool, actually, I'm thinking on recreating them one day again, with a nearby location where is a similar train and lots of nature.
Number 3: Me as an odalisque
I used to be in an Arabic dance class, that had a photoshoot session and also a presentation at the end of every course, here is mine that was taken around then of 2014
was taken with a professional camera back then, they built a little set with fabric and some wood items in the class location, at first I didn't know how they were to be, but when I received them, I certainly loved them, this is my favourite one of it
I couldn't help but play with some effects later and they just nailed in my opinion, here are the edited images.
I believe this is one of my best works as a model, unfortunately, I couldn't find the other 3 photos of his photoshing😭, my apologies
Number 4: A Dark fairy in her world
I have been doing this theme a like 3 times already and am still planning for more, however, I only could save photos for the last two times I did it
I was a dark dairy and the outfit or type of aesthetic for the fairy is Winx, but not the Winx saga from Netflix but the cartoon from like 20 years ago, This one in case you haven't seen it

I have created my own character in the series, which is called Nocturna Moonix and I will tell you the story very soon in another post, here are some images from my two first transformations (for the ones that didn't saw the series they have like 11 different ones and I want to recreate my favourite ones at like frank Sinatra said at "My way" which is kind of goth and fantastic with some classic, Asian and ancient influences)
The first one is like a modern fairy that corresponds with the magic Winx transformation the one you can see in the first season (and the one you saw in the reference photo a few moments ago). And the second one is more a phantasy Fairy that corresponds with the Echantix transformation that is the second one you are able to see in the series during the third season, here is a reference photo

I didn't put many of them because there are a bunch of photos of that fairy costume so I prefer to do a separate post with them if this community allows me to do it (let me know in the comments).
These photos were taken I believe like in 2018 with a Semiprofesional Lumix camera that I used to own (which got lost, unfortunately) and were taken by my husband.
I believe he captured perfectly the essence, the magic, the peacefulness and the darkness of the character as well as he used the camera filters amazingly. I love black and white photography and usually, I change the images to that but this time he took the photos like that already and were amazing, the light is perfect, the shapes are perfect, the background is perfect, are my favourite so far for sure, are the best in my opinion, fully love them.
And last but not least, Number 5: My Sailor Mars cosplay
These belonged to the current year 2023 a few months ago when I wore this costume for another anime convention and yes, you guessed, another contest, this time a cosplay contest.
the photos got really good and the cosplay is just perfect! when I bought it suited me perfectly and later I added more details that made it super amazing, can't complain, I loved it!
The photos were taken by my mom with her phone, which is a blue G70 and was already entering the night, I loved how she captured the moment and the expressions at the right time. Perfect for me.
I know... the backgrounds on the images are very simple and kind of messy, and the light is not perfect but kind of suits with the character, because if we remember in the anime, she often appears during the night and fights inside buildings and parks, in my opinion, my background as pretty well on it. Well, these were all the photos for today. In conclusion, I can see an evolution and noticeable differences, between them.
The difference that makes all details from the camera to the background, the budget and the moment of the day, is quite noticeable and are important aspects to take into consideration in future works. I can say I'm happy with the results so far and will be working to improve for sure.

Soy una amante de la fotografía y fotógrafa aficionada que disfruta haciendo fotografía y paisajismo, específicamente en blanco y negro, me encanta crear conceptos, representar historias y personajes a través de imágenes, así como capturar la belleza de la naturaleza, por lo general posando como modelo o también tomándome yo misma las fotos siempre que puedo, (aunque a veces simplemente no puedo necesito un fotógrafo que me ayude con ello jeje)
Hoy en el mes en que tenemos la oportunidad de usar disfraces y divertirnos con ellos, quiero compartir con ustedes las mejores fotos que tengo mientras uso trajes o disfraces especiales que me di cuenta es también una progresión y una muestra de cómo mis fotografías han ido evolucionando un poco a través de los años, sobre todo debido al cambio en las tecnologías accesibles, los lugares, mi propio estilo, yo como modelo, mis gustos, los fotógrafos y cómo he trabajado con todo ello, así como la forma en que todos los elemtos se juntan y su calidad.
Cada una de ellas tiene una pequeña historia, fueron tomadas en diferentes lugares (excepto algunas que fueron tomadas fuera de mi casa) y también fueron tomadas por diferentes personas que ciertamente hicieron un gran trabajo capturando el tema y el momento.
Mis disculpas si sólo tengo una foto de algunas de las sesiones de fotografia, algunas de las imágenes se han perdido durante los últimos años y todavía estoy buscando para ellos o tratando de recrearlas.
¿Preparados? Bueno, ¡allá vamos!
Número 1. Vestida como la diosa Perséfone
Un disfraz bastante sencillo que hice yo misma y utilicé para Carnaval durante febrero de 2013, que es una Fiesta nacional en la que tenemos días libres, jugamos con agua y utilizamos disfraces.
Elegí representar a Perséfone la diosa del inframundo en la mitología griega la esposa de Hades y la hija de Zeus y Deméter, la elegí porque su historia es una de mis favoritas en la mitología y la estética se adapta a la mía.
Fue la primera vez que hice un disfraz, y también la primera vez que llevaba uno desde que era niña, incluso mi madre estaba super emocionada y fuimos juntos a por la tela, que me la regalo tambien 😊 (Gracias Mami , te amo 💙).
Hice el vestido yo misma y en realidad no era la forma que estaba pensando en primer lugar, la que tenia en mente era algo como esto
La forma que se ve en la imagen mas abajo en realidad salió cuando estaba probando la tela en mí para saber cómo cortarlo y me encantó así que lo cosí de esa manera todavía en mí, para no perder la forma que tenia (sí, tengo una extraña manera de coser, pero funciona, así que ... sí XD, sigamos).....
Desafortnadamente, sólo tengo una imagen que me hizo una amiga con su teléfono, que no recuerdo el modelo, pero era uno estándar para el año, en realidad con una buena cámara (durante el día solía hacer varias fotografias con él y salian bastante bien). La foto fue tomada durante la noche, y aunque no se note, fue tomada en un baño de mujeres en un centro comercial, la pared funcionaba bastante bien con la tematica de mi disfraz en mi opinión....

**Número 2: Outfit Lolita Casual **
Este es un disfraz AKA un Outfit Que usé en una convención de anime, en agosto de 2013 para un concurso aunque esto casi parece un disfraz, es en realidad algo que se puede usar para salir, Es un traje de Lolita gótico casual .
El lolita es un estilo nacido en Japón hace unas décadas y fue bastante popular durante los años 2010 y anteriores, ahora mismo lo sigue siendo, pero se ve menos que antes. Es muy icónico y también bastante popular en el anime, por ejemplo, se puede ver en personajes como Misa de Death Note y Sakura Kinomoto de Sakura Card Captor, además este estilo estuvo súper de moda hace unos años junto con el visual kei. aquí un par de imágenes ilustrativas

El estilo se caracteriza por grandes tacones, largas medias, faldas triangulares, generalmente abultadas y a la altura de la rodilla. Es un estilo similar a lo que una muñeca victoriana usaría, ya sabes sombreros de encaje y más, sin embargo, tiene un montón de subestilos que se abren más el concepto.
Esta ropa no era fácil de encontrar por aquel entonces sobre todo si eras joven y sin muchos fondos como yo, así que ademas de hacer complementos con lo que tenia a la mano (como el sombrero que ven ahi que lo hice justo la noche anterior a la convención) solía usar, como veis aquí, una forma simplificada de la misma, que en realidad es uno de los subestilos de la misma, se llama casual lolita (más adelante haré un post sobre ella porque es un estilo super largo de explicar en detalle pero super interesante) aquí tienen una imagen de una casual lolita

Sigo aficionada a este estilo y ahora que puedo comprar más cosas y tengo más opciones que antes he encontrado nuevos complementos asi que pronto espero hacer más sesiones de fotos con este estilo.
Estas imágenes fueron tomadas con la cámara de una amigo, tampoco recuerdo el modelo, pero era una buena cámara de mano en aquel año.
Me encantó como en el centro de convenciones había tantos coches antiguos y un tren que desde luego no dejé pasar, desafortunadamente, perdí la mayoría de estas fotos en mi anterior PC, si algún día consigo encontrarlas desde luego que las compartiré con vosotros, fueron increíbles, me las tome como si fuera una viajera y fue super genial en mi opinión, de hecho estoy pensando en recrearlas algún día de nuevo en un sitio por aqui cerca con un tren similar, de hacerlo no dudare en compartirlo de seguro..
Número 3: Yo como odalisca
Yo solía estar en una clase de danza árabe, que tenía una sesión de fotos y también una presentación al final de cada curso, aquí está la mía que fue tomada alrededor de entonces de 2014
Fue tomada con una cámara profesional en aquel entonces, y construyeron con tela y algunos elementos de madera un pequeño Set en el lugar de la clase, al principio no sabía cómo iban a ser, pero cuando las recibí, sin duda me encantaron, esta es mi favourite
Después de verla, clarono pude evitar jugar con algunos efectos y simplemente clavaron en mi opinión, aquí están las imágenes editadas.
Creo que este es uno de mis mejores trabajos como modelo, por desgracia, no pude encontrar las otras 3 fotos de esta sesion fotogratica 😭, mis disculpas.
Número 4: Un hada oscura en su mundo
He hecho haciendo esta tematica como 3 veces ya y todavía estoy planeando hacer más, sin embargo, sólo pude conseguir fotos de las dos últimas veces que lo hice
En estas imagenes represento a una hada oscura y el atuendo o tipo de estética para el hada es de las Winx, pero no la saga Winx de Netflix sino la caricatura de hace como 20 años, que es por si no la han visto:

He creado mi propio personaje en la serie, que se llama Nocturna Moonix y os contaré la historia muy pronto en otro post, aquí van algunas imágenes de mis dos primeras transformaciones (para los que no vieron la saga tienen como 11 diferentes y quiero recrear mis favourites, como dijo frank Sinatra "A mi manera" que es algo gótico y fantástico con algunas influencias clásicas, asiáticas y antiguas)
La primera es como un hada moderna que se corresponde con la transformación Mágica Winx que es la que se puede ver en la primera temporada (y la que visteis en la foto de referencia hace unos momentos) Y la segunda es más un hada fantasiosa que se corresponde con la transformación Echantix que es la segunda que se puede ver en la serie durante la tercera temporada, aquí tenéis una foto de referencia

No puse muchas porque hay un montón de fotos de ese disfraz de hada así que prefiero hacer un post aparte con ellas si esta comunidad me lo permite (háganmelo saber en los comentarios).
Estas fotos fueron tomadas creo que como en 2018 con una cámara Lumix Semiprofesional que tenía (que se perdió, por desgracia😓) y las hizo mi marido.
Creo que captó perfectamente la esencia, la magia, la tranquilidad y la oscuridad del personaje además de que usó los filtros de la cámara increíblemente. Me encanta la fotografía en blanco y negro y por lo general, cambio las imágenes a eso en la edición posterior, pero esta vez él tomó las fotos así ya y fueron increíbles, la luz es perfecta, las formas son perfectas, el fondo es perfecto, son mis favoritas hasta ahora sin duda, son las mejores en mi opinión, las amo completamente.
Y por último pero no menos importante, Número 5: Mi cosplay de Sailor Mars
Estas pertenecen al actual año 2023 hace unos meses cuando usé este disfraz para otra convención de anime y sí, adivinaron, otro concurso, esta vez un concurso de cosplay.
Las fotos quedaron muy buenas y el cosplay es simplemente perfecto! cuando lo compré me quedaba perfecto y después le agregué más detalles que lo hicieron súper increíble, no me puedo quejar, ¡Me encantó!
Las fotos las hizo mi madre con su móvil, que es un G70 azul y ya entraba la noche, me encantó como captó el momento y las expresiones en el momento justo. Perfecto para mi.
Lo sé... los fondos de las imágenes son muy sencillos y algo desordenados, y la luz no es perfect, pero siento como que si aplica en la tematica, ya que si recordamos el anime, ella suele aparecer durante la noche y pelea dentro de edificios y parques, en mi opinión, le queda muy bien. Aquí están las imágenes
Bueno, estas han sido todas las fotos de hoy. En conclusión, puedo ver una evolución y diferencias notables, entre ellas.
La diferencia que marcan todos los detalles desde la cámara hasta el fondo, el presupuesto y el momento del día, es bastante notable y son aspectos importantes a tener en cuenta en futuros trabajos. Puedo decir que estoy contenta con los resultados hasta ahora y que trabajaré para mejorar de seguro.
