Greetings from Belgrade, everyone! It's almost sleep time here and I wasn't planning on posting today, but I got some free time and decided to show you new photos from this morning. Waking up early is becoming a second nature so much so that I got up at 4:15 this morning, watched the last few games of US Open semifinals and then immediately went out.
The initial plan was to go to the Zemun quay which is in a different direction from where I normally go when heading downtown. But it's Saturday and I seemed to miss the bus and so I went the usual route.
I was at the fortress one minute before the sunrise, talking about perfect timing. One of my recurring dreams/wishes ever since childhood is to practice gentle martial arts in front of a rising sun. First part was becoming fulfilled since last year when I started training Tai Chi. And the second part is being born these days as I discipline myself to be out this early. It was a quick, enjoyable practice that I'll just share a screenshot of for now.
I have to find a different position form which to photograph the city panorama. Shooting directly at the sun is a bit challenging because of the strong light. After shooting the birds and dog-walkers (the only living things awake this early on Saturday :D ) I headed towards student park and Knez Mihailova street. The light is absolutely beautiful, especially when it comes in patches. As you can see I like to hang out at this small windows and wait for some interesting subjects hopefully coming. I intentionally let the shadows very dark unless the composition requires to raise them up, usually in situations when the subject is not well distinguished.
This direction my photography took in the last few weeks since I became active again is where I hoped it would go and I'm in a sort of a good flow. I appreciate everyone's feedback, seems like you guys enjoy these photo walks as well. :) Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 and 35mm F/2 lens.
