Welcome back, everyone! Here I have a new batch of photos from the recent two days of "working". Even though it started as strictly an amateur hobby activity I do consider photography as a work thing at this point (even though I do other stuff besides it) and try to schedule regular outings with a camera. I don't photograph big events like weddings, it will never be my thing. The only exception is when dear friends ask me.
As an introvert who prefers spending time alone or with a group of super-close friends, at a big social event I'm like a fish out of the water. And what's even more important, I prefer photographing on my own terms - which means, photographing things I like, the way I like without someone else telling me what to do. Obviously, I'm just quirky and very specific and stubborn when it comes to this. I don't have ordinary people skills.
Street photography aligned perfectly with my vision of ideal activity. Because, you see, even though I hate social events more than anything, I actually enjoy meandering through the streets surrounded by people. I guess the fact that I can just walk around and don't have to interact with anybody makes it a non-issue. It's like being in the eye of the tornado, calm in the center of the storm.
It's my duty to take it seriously - it can't just be the thing I do once in a while when time and space opens up. I'm too involved and it became part of me. That's why I avoid taking full time jobs and stick to part time work that I can do from any place, so that I can move around freely and photograph. The only thing I enjoy more than street photography is travelling street photography. :) Getting to practice it in different cities and places is a dream come true for me. That will be the main focus in 2024. Of course, priorities change and interests change but having some form of artistic expression will likely stay. Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 lens over the last couple of days.
