It's been so long since I've photographed in the rain, and it used to be my absolute favorite thing to do! Many of you can probably remember. I guess there was less rainy days in the past few months and even when it was raining, my mind was occupied with other things. Anyway yesterday, after our afternoon Tai Chi class in the open was cancelled due to rain, I decided to go out and shoot.
The huge deluge was over while I was still on the bus so that was a bummer (it sucks when I am entering downtown and I see umbrellas being folded), but the aftermath was visible and it was still drizzling when I arrived.
Kalemegdan park is empty in the morning and when it rains, it's the only time when it's not crowded with people. I went there anyways cause it can be interesting to photograph lone silhouettes with umbrellas as they hurry between the trees or underneath gate arches. Sometimes I had to wait for 10 to 15 minutes and still no one shows up at the exact spot I was hoping for, so I eventually move on.
Young couple was sitting on the stone fence that serves as a viewpoint for overlooking the city and they are were accompanied by none other than a cat! It didn't look as a stray cat and it turned its head away and cleaned itself while the two lovers enjoyed each other's company. Under the bridge gate there was a puddle of water with the arch reflected in it. I loved it very much so I was waiting for maybe 15 minutes for someone with a black umbrella to pass by - and at the last moment, they arrived (second to last photo)! A flock of crows was having the time of their lives in the rain around the solitary fortress and tall trees. They were chasing each other playfully in the air and plunging down to earth at breakneck speeds. I enjoyed their game and was capturing it on my phone video camera. As always, I passed down the main street which connects to the park and captured a few interesting moments there as well. Photos taken with Fuji X-Pro2 + 35mm F/2 lens.
