We were just celebrating the arrival of spring, sunny days and flowering plants, thinking the winter is over. But unfortunately it had the final say. Two days ago upon waking up, the bright, white snowy landscape surprised us again. As I scrolled through social media, you can see the mood of the people was ruined. Even though this modern weather is so unpredictable it was still a hard hit for everyone, including myself. The visions and plans of being outside in the nature, enjoying good weather put on hold.
I was pretty excited about fruits in my backyard starting to bloom, but now it's very uncertain what will survive the snow. As I'm writing this, the snow is already gone, but the damage might be done. Hopefully not. 🤞
What can you do, I've accepted it and at least went out to do more street photography in the snow. The best time to photograph is of course while it's still snowing. Snowflakes add another dimension. Once it stopps it's much less effective and exciting to walk around. :)
The bus to the city was barely moving due to morning traffic, so I stepped outside and walked across the bridge over Danube river. The blizzard was strong as I was crossing the long bridge (it takes about 30 minutes).
I was looking for interesting subjects (or any subjects at all, because the streets weren't that busy). People with interesting outfits, vibrant colors, umbrellas, work well with these muted blue tones. And of course, people with dogs, you can always count on them to be active this early in the snowy morning. :) Overall, I think it was a successful trip - some interesting photographs to preserve the memory of this unexpected spring surprise.
