When I have free time I always use it to hunt for macro objects in the forest. It doesn't feel complete if you haven't photographed several interesting insect species, that's what I did yesterday at around 16.30 in the afternoon.
And I always don't come home empty-handed from the forest, there are always insect species that I manage to photograph even though they aren't many. On this occasion I would like to share two of the results of my hunt yesterday.
The first insect is a species of true weevil from the Curculionidae family, this beetle is a weevil that eats plant leaves. Even so, this beetle is quite interesting in my opinion, its color is green covered in yellow.
Scientifically, this beetle is called Hypomeces pulviger or also known as "gold-dust weevil" because when touched the gold color will disappear like dust. Then what's interesting about this beetle is that when it is threatened it will pretend to be dead, wait for its prey to let its guard down and then become active again as before.
This second insect is a species of hoverfly or flower fly. This is different from flies in general which are synonymous with dirty and smelly things. Flower flies (hoverflies) are just the opposite because flower flies like nectar or the sweet liquid in flowers.
This makes hoverflies equal to butterflies and bees in terms of food. Butterflies and bees suck nectar from flowers as do flower flies. As for the flower flies that I mean are part of the Volucella zonaria flower flies from the Syrphidae family. And here are some photos:
