While enjoying the fresh air in the afternoon in the rice fields, I didn't forget to take the time to look for some interesting macro objects there. It is no longer a secret that the edges of the rice fields are overgrown with flowering wild plants and are a favorite tourist spot for hoverfly species.
My target was to spy on them when they approached wild flowers, but my activity would of course disturb the hoverfly's comfort so they chose to perch on wild leaves. But that's not a big problem because the most important thing is that I can shoot them perfectly which is more than enough, because the most difficult thing for a macro photographer is photographing flying insects.
And in this post I want to share some macro shots with two hoverfly species & one shot of a shellless snail that I also found in the same location. The first hoverfly species is Helophilus with yellow characteristics accompanied by black stripes, both wings & eyeballs are brownish black.
"Helophilus is a genus of medium to large sized hoverflies belonging to the Syrphidae family." Wikipedia
Then the second hoverfly species has the scientific name Baccha maculata, its characteristics are almost the same as the hoverfly above, only this one has a body shape like a wasp with two red eyeballs.
"Baccha maculata is a genus of hoverflies in the family Syrphidae." Wikipedia
And finally there are snails without shells or naked snails, this name is of course in accordance with the appearance of the snail itself. Because generally snails have shells with several different shapes according to their respective species. However, the snail that I am sharing, as seen in some of the photos that I have uploaded, is completely without its shell.
And interestingly, I found the snail at the top of a wild plant under which there were many ants. My question is, is the snail not ticklish or painful if it is bitten by the ants? As for snail that I am sharing has the Latin name Deroceras invadens.
"Deroceras invadens is a species of air-breathing land slug, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Agriolimacidae." Wikipedia
