While on our 3 hour trip to the Atlantic port city of Essaouira, about 2 hours west of Marrakech we encountered one of the most strangest sights we have ever seen!
As we approched the village of Mejji, we saw dozens of Goats chilling out grazing on top of trees!
So the Moroccan Goats will climb the Argan trees when the fruits are ripe and feed on them. Argan tress only grow in Morocco. The Argan oil, which is believed to be one of the most expensive oils in the world, is extracted from the poop of tree-climbing Goats. When the Goats excrete the fruit, the seed is still intact, and is used to produce the oil.
