Today, I would like to share photos of beautiful and unique interiors from Central Asian restaurant - Safar. The restaurant is located in Almaty, Kazakhstan which is a former capital of the country.

The beautiful decorative details of the interiors are so fascinating and welcoming, that makes guests to want keep coming back to this cozy place. The contrasting colors and patterns show how rich is the culture of Central Asian people.

When I was a 3rd year student, I was working on a project designing Central Asian themed interiors. It was a really fun work to do. I used warm colors (red, yellow, orange), and I used markers for coloring. It turned out very bright and eye catching. My teacher was pleased with the results.

There is one little detail that puzzled me for a moment. It is a five-pointed star. I don’t know, maybe designers wanted to add a bit of modern touch, who knows… I mean an eight-pointed star is usually used in the patterns for the decor in this culture along with pointed arches and floral designs.

I love the brick decor on the walls as a part of the design here, it balances out the bright colors and gives a nice touch to the whole interior.

If you happen to be in Almaty, I’d definitely recommend this restaurant. Especially if you are a meat eater:-)
