I was walking along a street when on the pavement in front of me a sentence called me, and then another and another...
On one of the many walks I take, I was going to a park, but I had to walk a long way to get there.
During that walk I liked to go along the pavement where the sun gave me its warmth. And in one of those streets I could see, turning my head, that there was a sentence on a wall. But when I kept walking I saw another and another and another sentence.
Most of them were written in Spanish, although I could see some in Italian, Russian, English and some other languages. There were also unfinished sentences, as if these murals were being done at the moment.
I always liked the phrases of thinkers, famous phrases and phrases that encourage reflection, critical thinking, phrases about life, emotions, rational too, why not.
When I cross the street I come across a big wall, in a very long street with phrases all over it. I started to take pictures of the ones I liked the most and in some cases there were drawings without phrases, but also beautiful ones.
"The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts" M.A.
This phrase is one of the ones I liked the most, our thoughts are energy and it depends on them how our life is.
"I cannot teach anyone anything, I can only make them think" Socrates.
Interesting phrase, you can only be a guide for others, but not help them, they must make their own way.
"Every night, however long and gloomy it may seem, has its dawn" Shakespeare.
A very positive and encouraging phrase to keep going and know that if bad things happen, it will pass and good things will come.
"Have you noticed that when you don't let yourself be trampled on, people start to say that you have a difficult character" Quino.
I think it's a reality, if we assert what we think then we get questioned.
"Poetry is something that walks in the street, that moves, that passes by us. All things have their mystery and poetry is the mystery of all things" F.G. Lorca.
What a beautiful phrase I found this one, poetry is a language that sometimes has been left aside, but it is so beautiful and it is in everything around us.
"There are no barriers, no locks, no bolts that you can impose on the freedom of my mind" V. Woolf.
For the moment the mind is free and a sanctuary of our thoughts, in it we have full freedom, even if physically not many people have it. There we can create, think, everything.
"Love is so short, and oblivion is so long" P. Neruda
In this case, besides the phrase, I liked the painting alluding to it. A road in the shape of a heart, it is beautiful, beyond simple.
"Why are you crying, if everything in this book is a lie? I know, but what I feel is real" A. González.
Feelings are the most genuine and true thing there is, they come from the heart and the heart never lies.
"He who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new" Albert Einstein.
I love all of Einstein's quotes, he always says things that are really true. There will be no mistakes if we do nothing... it is better to make mistakes and learn.
Some murals did not contain phrases but some drawings or paintings like these two.
"Life is not about having good cards, but about playing well the ones you have".
Some murals did not have an author either, but certainly this phrase applies to reality, it is better to have wit and intelligence to know what to do with what you have.
"Giving wings has always been a much nicer thing to do than clipping them" C.
How much truth there is there, to give people freedom, so that they can be the directors of their own lives.
"Lies win games, but truth wins the game" Socrates.
Another thinker whose quotes I love. The truth will always come out, always.
"Loneliness is not being alone, it is being empty" Seneca.
I think that although short, this is another of my favourite quotes, loneliness is not bad, on the contrary, you know yourself, you can be surrounded by people and feel alone... empty.
"I am not the best at anything, but I can improve in everything" R. Rubio.
Improving every day is the best thing in life, improving is what makes us advance and reach our goals and evolve.
All very true truths and how nice that they have painted this mural with these words to reflect on things that we often go through and it is possible that they come at the right time in our lives and help us.
And which one did you like the most of all the phrases?
Thank you very much for reading and watching this far. I send you all a big greeting and my best wishes for a beautiful Sunday.
Amonet.
