Here, the domes of the New Athos Monastery are buried among the greenery. But it deserves a separate description. Some other time.
So, this time has come and we are entering the New Athos Monastery. Yes, this is a monastery for men. I don't really understand why a young healthy man should limit his freedom within the framework of the monastery's charter and a modest monastic life. I don't understand a lot of things in this world. But this is their choice and they have the right to it. However, this is not my way.
But I can just walk in here and feel the energy of this place. I'll tell you right away - it's positive.
Inside the temple, I saw only natural daylight from the windows. Maybe they use electricity here in the evenings, I don't know, we were in the afternoon.
The main temple is very spacious and despite the restrained lighting there is no sense of gloom.
But let's go outside anyway. The temple is installed on the slope of the mountain, on one of its ledges. I think that the area of this ledge was specially expanded before the construction. Later I will show you some photos that gave me this idea.
We didn't meet a single monk. During the day, the cathedral is open to everyone and most likely performs the function of a kind of museum for numerous tourists.
Now we go to the outer territory of the monastery. There is a steep descent down here, the city of New Athos itself is located there.
And we'll wander around a bit.
And here is the edge of this platform. He gave me the idea of alignment. However, this is justified, a construction site is a construction site. It offers a good overview of the surrounding area.
However, it's time to return to the park and take a break from the excursion by the water.
Or maybe someone wants to swim?
