We are again in Ziro (Arunachal Pradesh, north east India), hosted by the family of our local guide.
After a very good lunch, we took some pictures to Jayo (the grandmother of our local guide) and her friend.
As I have said in other post, the pieces of wood in the nose are used to identify the member of the tribe, and also to get women less attractive.
You see also a christian icon over the main door: here there are many christian families, in fact Christianity started here after the arrival of Don Bosco missionaries, during the half of last century, building many churches and schools. Many local people left the ancient traditional habit, embracing christian culture, and now animist, christian, hindus and muslims are living in peace together. Don Bosco was priest, educator, writer and missionary founder of Salesian Congregation in nineteenth century.
