In Cork I took a shooting of a soap bubbles artist.
Soap bubbles remind me to the fragility of life, how life can be weak and great at the same time.
Soap bubbles moved around palaces and some kids played with them. Bubbles seemed to change reality, separating or incorporating people and things, as they do with a clock: gaming is serious matter, and also time seemed to stop.
There is a thought I like about fragility, from the movie 'Stalker' by Andrej Tarkovskij:
"Weakness is a great thing, and strength is nothing. When a man is just born, he is weak and flexible. When he dies, he is hard and insensitive. When a tree is growing, it's tender and pliant. But when it's dry and hard, it dies. Hardness and strength are death's companions. Pliancy and weakness are expressions of the freshness of being. Because what has hardened will never win."
