Amy in red and gold
I've been to "Tankspace" twice and worked with around ten or twelve models over those two occasions. And I still have hundreds of unedited images. Over the past few days, I've been concentrating on processing shots of Amy. This young lady is without doubt, one of my favourite models. She is so easy to work with, always a lot of fun and laughter, and she models beautifully in my opinion.
Bridal Amy
Amy took to the water like a natural; it was like she had been born to dance around in a huge tank of water, dancing with different coloured fabrics in a coloured light enhanced water tank, like some glamorously colourful mermaid.
Jump into the light
The shot above is quite heavily processed - I think I was up to around 16 or 17 layers at one point - adjusting saturation, contrast, de-noising and cloning out extraneous background detail, before finally turning the image 90 degrees as I felt that it was more dramatic that way.
Don't forget your parasol
As with every time I have worked with Amy, she was more than willing on trying different ideas, and running with them until the photographer has the shot or they agree that on this occasion it isn't working, but not for the lack of trying. She always works so hard for the shot.
On the bottom
Images taken at Tankspace are usually very very noisy. The tank is inside a heavy duty black out tent, and the only light available is that coming from the tank itself, so a high ISO and a fast shutter are a must. Its then a lot of fun (yeah right) determining just how much noise to leave in the shot, how far to push it whilst still retaining the image as close to the original as possible. Something I don't always achieve, but usually as long as both the model and I are happy, that is all that matters at the end of the day.
About me:
I can mostly be found shooting models, aviation, motorsports and, when I can, wildlife. But I enjoy most aspects of photography. You can find more of my work on the links below.
