The golden hour
This last week, in the UK, we've had a bit of a heat wave. Unprecedented temperatures, the media going into a total frenzy and the Government issuing red weather alerts. Yes, it was hot. But with a little common sense, it surely wasn't going to be as apocalyptic as the media was making out.
At the beach
As it turns out, we did see temperatures higher than any we had previously encountered. But I just saw it as a chance for a nice evening beach shoot. Plenty of water to stay hydrated, sun cream and appropriate clothing and off I went to meet Holly at a nice quiet beach.
The golden glow
I say quiet. I think thousands of people had had the same idea. When I arrived the car park was rammed and the beach was heaving. Bear in mind that I use this (usually) quiet beach a bit for shoots - I have been there before and not seen a single footprint on the sand, let alone another person. You can understand that I was a bit surprised.
Wear a hat in the sun
Thankfully by the time Holly arrived (she had been delayed at work) the car park and the beach ad thinned out considerably. So we were able to have a reasonably quiet shoot in absolutely glorious light (and slightly cooler temperatures and a sea breeze). We managed to get (what I think) are some nice shots though, and Holly, as always, was wonderful.
About me:
I can mostly be found shooting models, aviation, motorsports and, when I can, wildlife. But I enjoy most aspects of photography. You can find more of my work on the links below.
