"Kill Bill" vibes
Early last week Lauren and I had a shoot planned. It was her birthday and we wanted to bring a cake into the shoot somehow. Unfortunately Tuesday was the hottest day of the year (in fact the hottest day in the UK since records began). And because of the heat, the trains couldn't run. Yeah, I know, right. A bit of heat and there is a chance the rails could warp. So, instead I got in the car and drove over to Barnsley. Picked Lauren up and then pootled down to a derelict site we had used before.
How to pose with a blade?
As with every shoot I've done with Lauren, she came well prepared, lots of outfits. With this part of the shoot we were going for a sort of "Kill Bill" vibe. We did three different looks during the shoot, before we decided to go and wipe the sweat (and the dirt off) and go for something to eat (it seems that Maccy D's really is the end of shoot favourite of so many of us).
Razor sharp
I will hopefully post some of the other "looks" later, for this post I will stick with this outfit. While she still retains her femininity I thing Lauren's poses are really strong.
Cutting the cake
And then it was time to cut the cake. Not sure a katana was designed to slice cake. But it served the purpose nicely. I'm not a pig, a gannet or a glutton, but this cake was supposed to feed fourteen. It didn't actually state whether that was people or mice. I didn't feel it was that big.
Let her eat cake
It would have been rude to not try the cake once it had been cut, but agin not sure this was what the sword was forged for. But makes for an interesting pic. Watch out for further shots from this fun packed shoot in a few days.
