NATO AWACS E-3A t RAF Waddington Cobra Warrior 2022
I got so many images during the three trips up to RAF Waddington to watch Cobra Warrior aircraft. But these will be the last, for a while at least, Was well worth the visit even though some days there appeared to be more waiting around than action.

There is, close to the runways at RAF Waddington, a "spotters" car park and café, called The Wave, which is run by a good friend. Usually there is a maximum of around 10 cars on any given day, During Cobra I am guessing there was well over one hundred vehicles with more in the overflow car park.

Members of all the crews involved in the exercise took time out to visit the Wave and bring "goodies" - squadron insignia badges, patches and other memorabilia. They seem to enjoy the fact that they were looked on as superstars by some of the aviation spotters, I never got the chance to chat to any of them but apparently they were really pleased that we were there to support them and take an interest in what they were doing.

I was just happy to see the Tornados ("Tonkas") Perhaps my favourite jet and now the RAF no longer have any, they really are a rarity in the skies over Lincolnshire
