I had a moment the other day, a cleaning moment, and decided I'd sort through my wardrobe to see what I may not need anymore. We all accumulate things over the course of our lives, they can easily mount up; out of sight out of mind. That creates a lack of space and an excess of things so occasionally I sort through and determine what I may be able to move on, donate to charity.
I found a few items of clothing which I decided were excess to my needs then started on my trinkets drawer...it was a bit of a mess to be honest; a jumble of things I've had for a long time and just haven't moved on. I decided to be totally brutal and find some I'd be happy to let go. It wasn't easy.
I'd never give any of my good jewellery away but I had a drawer (not a big one...ok, it is big) full of cheaper costume jewellery I've used to compliment outfits and accessorise and I managed to reduce it somewhat.
Most of it was purchased for a specific outfit, some of which I don't even have anymore, so I simply selected those, and others that have lapsed out of trend and put them in a box to take to the charity store. I was able to reduce the items by about a third which I thought was a good reduction over all.
I thought it might be a good idea to take a few photos of some of the things I decided to keep and you can see some of them here.
I photographed all of these images
The items in that drawer were not expensive, cheap trinkets really, however I'd allowed them to build up to a point of ridiculousness; I knew I'd never wear most of it and figured someone else might be able to make use of the items. Those things have served me well, helped me create the specific looks I've wanted and I've had my use of them. I felt good about clearing some out and am happy to know that someone may be able to use them.
