A few days ago I was in the garden looking at what the plants are doing and watering a little, and came across my daisy plants which aren't looking very good. They're healthy, but not currently flowering. My daisies are the Serenity Deep Yellow daisy and I have the Serenity Deep purple also...both of which look so lovely when they flower and I cannot wait for them to do so once again.
I remembered that some time ago I was playing around with my camera in my garden.
Hmm...it's not really mine though, the camera not the garden, but my man lets me use it whenever I want to and he's let me play with his macro lens a little also. I love my garden and despite not being overly interested in photography have found a lot of pleasure in seeing my garden through the lens, especially the macro lens as it captures the small details the human eye might otherwise miss. It's been a revelation, the enjoyment I've gotten from taking a few pictures and I'm so pleased my partner suggested I take some shots.
The three images you see are of the deep yellow daisy plant but, as you can see, they also have a beautiful purple tone in them also, a color combination I think is stunning. I love how the macro lens reveals the flower in it's entirety, all the small elements that combine to create the overall beauty and how there's so many colours that one might not usually see. The shapes found in the center of the flower are also interesting.
I love flowers and have said so many times in my posts. They make me smile and I love touching them, the sensation of their petals upon my skin and their delicate fragility. I derive great enjoyment from growing and tending my plants, a reward in itself, but it's the blooms that are the greatest reward, the lovely colorful and fragrant flowers that grace me with their presence.
I'm quite new to photography and if not encouraged to take up the camera by my guy I wouldn't probably have ever done so. My thought was always, why take photographs when I can enjoy the real thing in person, however now I have a small collection of photographs of plants and flowers I helped to bring into being I find I've expanded and deepened the enjoyment I get from my garden and found what could very well be an enjoyable new hobby.
I've come to understand, in some small way, the lure of photography and I can see myself doing more and more...I'm not sure, but maybe my guy will regret encouraging me to snap some shots...he might just have completely lost his camera to me...or maybe I can get my own.
