Since I started blogging, I've discovered another hobby: macro photography. I've done macro photography of flowers before, but I didn't know what I was doing. I just enjoyed taking pictures of the flowers. This time, I tried capturing different types of insects, both inside and outside our house.
Ladybug
While visiting my parents, I found a beautiful pink ladybug on one of my mother's plants. I was amazed by its unique color and took the opportunity to capture it, as it was my first time seeing a pink ladybug. I know that most ladybugs eat other insects, but I have seen some herbivorous species that eat the leaves of plants, such as those in my husband's garden.
Butterfly
My daughter captured a cute blue-gray butterfly using her iPhone. The butterfly suddenly landed on her fingers, which was a pleasant surprise as it is not common for butterflies to land on people.
Moth or what?
A yellow and black moth landed on my daughter's arm, just like the small butterfly that landed on her fingers. I am unsure whether it is a moth or what kind of insect it is. I have never seen a moth with a yellow and black color before, but you know that there are many different species of moths, so it may be a moth. I try to identify the moth by looking at its wings, but it is too small and you cannot see any markings.
Fly
It's strange how I used to hate flies so much. I was always irritated by them and wanted to kill them. But this time, I saw a fly sitting quietly on a rose leaf. I was looking for something to capture, and I didn't expect to see this fly. I took the opportunity to capture it while it was still sitting still and not flying. It was honestly the first time I had ever captured a fly, and I was amazed by how they looked. I liked their big eyes and the tiny hairs on their legs.
Mantis
Mantises are named after the way they hold their front legs together in a praying position. I found one in one of my plants at home, and I often see them around our house. I did some research and learned that mantises are beneficial insects because they eat pest insects in the garden. I'll have to tell my husband about them so he knows they're helping to keep our plants healthy.
Mantis
I found another mantis in our room. It was nighttime when I saw this green mantis on my son's mat. Mantises are one of my favorite insects because they are so friendly. This one had white lines on its legs, wings, and even its head.
Weaver Ant
These ants are known as "Hantiks" in the local area. They are larger than regular ants and are known for their aggressive and territorial behavior. We had difficulty getting rid of them when they invaded our room. They were living under the window frame, and there were hundreds or maybe thousands of them.
I am grateful for your time in reading my blog. Thank you for stopping by!
