I just restarted my hobby in Macro Photography. 13 years back, I was using a Canon DSLR with multiple type of lenses. I have one (1) 18-55 mm, one (1) 90-300 mm, one (1) 50mm, one (1) custom macro lens. I need to use a big backpack to carry all of my equipment whenever I go out for a photo shoot.
Now, instead if using DSLR, currently I'm using a smartphone that is equipped with add-on lens. As of today, I have one (1) 25mm custom macro lens, one (1) wide angle lens, one (1) stabilizer gimbal. It really is convenient since I do not need to carry such a big backpack for all my equipment...or more accurate, my smartphone accessories. I'm able to carry all of those accessories inside my small slingbag.
With the accessories mentioned, I can take a decent macro photography.
The capabilities of my smartphone with the add-on lens is even better compared to the DSLR that I used to own. With smartphone, I can even do a macro videography. This is something that my old DSLR not able to do.
Below is the video that I've taken using my smartphone that is equipped with custom macro lens. The video is a bit shaky, since I did not use my gimbal for this shot.
For those who is curious on how it look after attaching all of the accessories, below is how its looks after attaching the custom macro lens to my smartphone, and stabilizing the smartphone on gimbal. Not as bulky as my old DSLR.
