Nothing is known even locally about this vessel except that it is a wrecked boat near a small harbour in Southampton.
The mystery is perhaps more interesting than the boat itself. The harbour is very far inland to not be subjected to currents and tidal activity. The river slowly fills at high tide to just about cover it.
Maybe it ran aground and was never saved. However, the harbour is just outside of this frame which begs the question, what happened?
The closest possibility I could find is a Historic England listing that notes it could be a ship known as the 'Holigost', a 600-year old ship that sailed as part of Henry V's war fleet of four vessels used to conquer France in the early 15th century.
Have a great end to the week and take care!
