As a child, I grew up in a household with numerous pets! Cats, dogs, fish, lizards, birds--everything! And when I wasn't spending time with them, I was in the backyard, turning over stones and collecting bugs 🐛 My love for nature, particularly for wildlife, has left me enthralled with some of the cute, creepy--and even downright weird--critters of Canada 😄🇨🇦

(Black Squirrel)
Along with my love for nature is my love for travel! And the more area I cover in Canada, the more I realize that this beautiful country is home to more species of animals than I could ever imagine.. Each province of Canada has its own unique environment--its own unique ecosystem. From mountains and forests, to dry prairies, to the Arctic tundra, there is no shortage of the different animals you will find out here!

(Canadian Goose)
So, without further ado, here are just a few photos of wildlife that we have managed to capture throughout our travels thus far!

The Canadian Goose is considered a symbol of Canada. As such, you can find them just about anywhere throughout the country! We were fortunate enough to capture a few gems of an entire family of them down by the bay.

Along with geese, you will find many other species of birds, including cardinals, jays, robins, ducks, swans--even herons! Although the songbirds are my favorite, they are incredibly difficult to capture on camera 🥺 Someday!

(Cormorant)

(White Swan)

(Heron)

(Male Wood Duck)
Along with birds, you will find many other animals! Here is just a few more of the wildlife you can encounter:

(Possum! Although they look scary, they're harmless 😊)

(Adult hand for comparison)

(Monarch Butterfly)
