A story about the newest member of my family! + some pictures that I loved
I am going to tell you a little story that happened a few months ago when I had one of those long weekends when I was busy with my family doing some things downtown, at that time we were checking the first stages to build a new room in the house for the guests and we needed to make an estimate of the materials as well as the labor we needed to hire. We were walking around a corner near the store where we needed to go and we met a new friend, I have always been a dog person, I have had dogs all my life for as long as I can remember but this little kitten, about 2 or 3 months old crossed my girlfriend and I path and we could not resist, she looked lost and was meowing as if she was trying to find her pack and her mother.
We decided to be with her for a while, give her some food and wait to see if her mother was around, but apparently she had been alone for a while on the street so my partner and I decided the logical thing to do.
We adopted her!
It was a quick decision without thinking about all the responsibility that would fall on us suddenly, as I said I had never had a cat so I had to guide me in tutorials on Youtube and in the experience of my partner who had taken care of some kittens, first we had to clean her because it was obvious that being in the street she had been in contact with waste that covered her fur, We bathed her, we removed some of her dirty fur and then we prepared a bed for her next to our sofa, being so small at that time she only lay on that improvised bed but after a while she learned to ride on the sofa and most of the time I see her lying there.
She is a very quiet cat, she doesn't make too much noise but once a day she comes to us and lies down with us, as if she was saying "thank you", these moments are priceless and are the ones that encourage me to rescue more pets near our community, in fact in the next few days I may start a project on this topic in Hive, I'm sure we can make a shelter with the help of everyone.
Recently we had to sterilize the cat and she was some days down because of the anesthesia, we have a puppy in the house and although at the beginning both hated each other to death, I think that little by little they are learning to love each other, sometimes the puppy approaches her and smells her, as if she wanted to know that she is well, my heart shrinks every time I see that scene.
and well, this is my first experience taking care of cats, and I can say that they are quite calm, they are also easy to train in some things like learning to use the litter box, from the second week she was with us she was learning to use the box we left her and we don't have any problem, I took some pictures of her when she was sleeping, I have a whole album of her but they are mostly funny pictures I take when she is sleeping, who knows, maybe I will publish them here someday.
