Well, quality and original content are both critical areas. Low effort posts generally don't get as much positive attention.
Here in this community we generally tend to wait until the user's reputation is around 50 before we support and curate them. Many of the accounts with lower reputations have been scammers or people putting forth low effort content, especially if they have been around for a long period of time.
We don't curate from the community posts with just a single image. Engagement with your own audience and actively commenting is an important factor as well. Overall, exceptional original photography is what we tend to focus on in this community. Some of things things don't apply to you... just what we look for in general.
I have two posts discussing the etiquette on Hive and some of the best practices. If you get some time go check those out. They have a lot of helpful tips for success. Time and consistency are important as well. So, just do your thing... put in good effort... be creative and use your own original images and words (otherwise source your materials that are not your own content) and engage with others. That is my best advice.
I hope this answer helps you out a bit. Cheers bro
