Friends, today I am very happy to share these two extraordinary insect portraits to add to my collection in the Photography Lovers community.
The two insects that I encountered have their own uniqueness and beauty so they deserve to be part of my album this time. The first insect I caught was from the Ommatius species, while the second insect was from the Sternuchopsis species. Let's find out more about these two insects.
The first insect I photographed was Ommatius which is known as a type of predatory insect in the Asilidae family. Ommatius has a very distinctive appearance with big shining eyes and a slim body. The prominent physical characteristic of Ommatius is its long and strong legs so it can catch prey deftly. These insects are often found in open areas such as grasslands and forests, where they actively hunt other insects.
And below is the second insect that I managed to photograph from the Sternuchopsis species. Sternuchopsis has a hard body and is bright gray in color, and has a proboscis, this gives a very interesting impression when seen up close. They are often found in green areas, especially around the leaves and branches of grassy shrubs.
Friends, even though Ommatius and Sternuchopsis are both insects, they certainly have very different roles in their respective lives. This uniqueness is what makes these two insects interesting for us to study.
To get stunning portraits of these two insects, I used macro photography techniques. With a macro lens, I was able to capture the fine details of these two insects, from body texture to color and other unique features. The use of a tripod that I use helps me keep the camera stable so that the photos remain sharp and clear.
