Schloss Klaus is located on the way to Stolzenfels Castle, on a bend in the path.
A stream passes under the building. The stream is crossed by a bridge which is part of the building.
It was built on the site of an existing smaller building and housed the apartments of servants and guests, as well as horse stables and cottages.
The building complex was built in two stages of construction, first the building in front of Klausen in 1842/43 after Naumann's plans, which was extended in 1845 according to Schnitzler's plans. At the same time, the Klausen back building was built.
Stolzenfels Castle is surrounded by a 9-hectare landscape park, it was arranged as a landscape and hunting park.
The landscape park follows the path, planted like a boulevard, along the Gründgesbach, which is dammed in small fish ponds and whose slopes are forested.
For me, exploring the park was a pleasant experience, it is an experience I would repeat in the future. The place can leave you breathless due to the landscapes and buildings.
