Hi fellow Photography Lovers,
Today I am here with some photos we took recently when we went for a trip to the beach!
Frigid Cold Rocks
We went out recently and were doing a few different things that brought us to an area that I haven't been to in a while and our son has never been to before! I took the opportunity to show him some of the awesome things and places that I used to spend time in when I was younger, to get him exposure to different places. We got some pretty cool snaps along the way!
This place was thankfully empty, in the warmer times of year it's filled with people and since it's "resident's only" also filled with unhappy people and police looking to remove anyone who isn't allowed to be there. Shitty in my opinion but that's the world we live in sadly. Luckily, no one was around so we had the place to ourselves! We got to spend some cool time on the rocks and showing him around the area.
I didn't do it when I was younger but some of my friends used to jump off the rocks here into the ocean out there, since it's quite deep if you can get out far enough. I didn't trust myself to jump that far and the ocean is also frigid cold even in August lol It makes for some pretty cool scenery and pictures though!
It's remarkable how the rocks are being slowly sliced through by the current and the oceans power. I wonder what this will look like in another 10 or 20 years? I think this spot here used to just be a small crack in the rock that has since widened over time with the fury of the ocean.
It was incredible though, as crazy cold as it was that day and winter time, the ocean still had this amazing blue hue to it! It sort of made you feel like you were in the Caribbean, until you looked at the leafless trees or touched the water with your finger lol
Seeing the wild sections of the rock was awesome. There were 3 giant chasms in the rock, this being the largest. I think at one point this was all solid rock and the erosion just took it away and created some pretty great and smooth pebbles around.
I love these little gullies in the rock where the tide comes right up. These, in the summertime, are some of the best places to find the little critters that we are looking for: crabs! I don't think we will ever get the chance to spend time here in the summer for the reasons I specified earlier but it's possible. I used to park elsewhere and ride my bike up to this place, they can't bitch about that since you aren't technically parking a car.
