Alright, who actually has a bucket list? As a figure of speech it's fun, but does anybody actually write out a list of places to go and things to do?
I have an aversion to lists so I've never made one. Wouldn't know where to start even if I were to try.
These photos are from two places that would be checked off my hypothetical list, Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado and the Oregon Coast. Thing is, they wouldn't have been on said list were it not for me visiting them first.
I took all of these while on a twelve week road trip across the western United States in 2017. When I'd tell people what I was up to I usually got some variation on it being 'a once in a lifetime' thing. The hell you say?!?! I'm doing this shit again!
Ever get the sense that you spend most of your time waiting to do the things you actually want to do? Marking time until you can mark off a checklist...
Pretty sure you end up regretting the things you didn't do way more than the things you did do.
For me, half the fun of adventuring is that sense of wonder and discovery that you get with the new.
'No expectations' is one of my rules for adventuring, without preconceived notions it's a lot easier to find the fun and interesting.
Is a bucket list all the things you wish to do before you die or all that you intend to do?
What happens if you manage to mark everything off the list?
Talk about a hell of a prize... Congratulations! You've did everything you wanted, now all there is to do is to die!
Think I'll stick to making it up as I go. So what do you have on/marked off your bucket list?
