The cherry trees are blooming! Here in a couple hours we will be heading out on an adventure, going to Washington DC for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Won't be flying though. We're taking a train instead, which should be an adventure in and of itself. Definitely going to be taking photos on the ride, may even try to get a post out from aboard the train.
These photos are all of helicopters I shot flying overhead the last time I was at the cherry blossom festival.
The festival is centered on the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial, which you can see a bit of in the photo above. I'm looking forward to getting to shoot it with a wide angle this time.
This last photo is what I suspect is the presidential helicopter, Marine One, or at least a close imitation. With the war in Ukraine it will be interesting to see how DC has changed since the last time I was there.
