Now you see it.
Now you don't.
Ahhh haaa haaa haaa there it is again.
I'm up late. I'm always up late. I'm looking at pictures of crow eyes. I hear a sound and I can't tell if it's some dude talking outside or my cat snoring. Pretty sure it's both. I don't think it matters, just so long as the dude talking outside isn't the schizophrenic from a couple years ago that broke into the neighbor's little cement yard and rambled on about dark and twisted things for hours. I'm not going to check, though. Last time I did, kind-hearted idiot that I am asked if he was ok. He paused, but instead of responding to me he went on to incorporate a sentence about a Jewish people into his mad soliloquy. I'm not sure how he knew I was Jewish, but he was between realities and dimensions and all those things that you aren't supposed to be between if you want good footing in the here and now. He probably sees a lot of shit in his own personal ether that he can't convey because the part of him that is here in our realm just translates as plain old psychotic. I didn't call the cops because it wasn't my yard and he wasn't hurting anybody. At the time the yard belonged to a hetero couple who periodically got into big fights that sometimes led to the woman crying out in pain. One day I'd had it and yelled out the window that if he didn't leave her alone I would call the cops. He left her alone and he moved out that afternoon. The woman moved out, too. The place was empty for a few months. Now some biker dude who listens to heavy metal and audiobooks while he works on projects lives there. He feeds the crows and the squirrels. Brings good juju to the place.
Crow eyes tell us a lot about how a crow is feeling. The snacking crow's eyes convey urgency and suspicion. Gotta get those snacks before someone else does. Gotta keep an eye on that shiny blonde lady with the big black telescoping eyeball. This crow is young. About a year and a half. You can tell by the partially pink mouth. They can't read humans well. They are on perpetual high alert because they are still learning who and what is a danger. This other crow, though? Chill AF. Soft eyes. Curious eyes. They remember me from the last half dozen times I've come here over the years. They don't see me as a threat and they don't have food scarcity issues. I really like this crow. I would spend more time with them if it didn't cost me $200 per visit.

This is not a crow. This is a Fraggle.
