A friend recently praised me for my vanity and said I take interesting selfies, and my profession shines through it. I never considered my self portraits as art.
They were merely in their essence, convenient holiday snaps, that one learns to achieve when traveling solo.
I don't dislike the modern obsession with posting a selfie to Instagram every morning for the simple pleasure of receiving a compliment if it boosts your self esteem.
But I would definitely agree and argue that it's perhaps a damaging path for a large majority of the worlds youths.
Even I, whom is happy, married with a cool 3 year old and awesome dogs, fond myself loathing over the published achievements of friends far and wide.
I find myself battling with the idea of jealousy and envy when comparing my own reality to the often fabricated and false online representation of others lives.
So what's the point in my tangent, I don't know... Perhaps let's remember how important it is in life to not take yourself to seriously, particularly your appearance.
Practice being comfortable in your own skin and your own situation. Don't dream, this is the dream, just do the things you think aren't possible.
I hope you enjoyed this collection of; I guess we'll call them self-portraits, what are your thoughts?
Cheers,
