The final days of 2021 are approaching; it is also a time to reflect on our experiences, including pleasures, tragedies, and profound emotions. It's fantastic to be a part of organization's challenge. Without the tales behind them, the photographs below would be nothing spectacular. And it has personal significance for me, which I treasure.
- First and foremost, I must use the most memorable photo from my 2021 since it contains both joy and sorrow. It was taken with a phone exposure while I was on the second floor of a tilted waterfall (not a vertical one, there is a small lake on each floor, located at the red dot) during my 11-day solo adventure through the woods when Danang's entire city was in disarray. Due of the Covid epidemic, the city has been put on lockdown.
- Happiness: At a time when the entire city is losing its freedom and being confined to their homes, it is my fortunate moment to be truly free and to live in peace with nature every day. Every day, I go exploring in various directions and simply converse with nature, listening to the inner things communicating. When I went barefoot and slept on the rock next to the waterfall without a tent or sleeping bag to protect me from the elements, I truly felt at one with nature. When I don't use fire or electric lighting, little animals can crawl on top of me, and the night totally takes over. It's also a challenge that makes me happy when I'm entirely cut off from the outside world and unable to communicate with others.
- Suffering: When I first started my journey, I passed through a small community, and when people observed me enter the forest without exiting, they assumed I was planning to commit suicide because a similar instance had occurred previously. They helped the local cops locate me. They escorted me home because they assumed I was a fugitive when they approached me at 3 p.m. while I was laying in a hammock reading a book. During my days in the woods, I used marijuana. That is illegal and carries a fine of around $40, but there are hundreds of checkpoints between there and my residence (must have a complicated passport). So they detained me and sent me to a local re-education center (the only light in the first picture is fence the re-education camp that I still look at every night).
Human rights breaches are common and widespread in Vietnam, which is a totalitarian communist regime. When there is power in the fight against the disease, abuse of power is even more harmful. Before the lockdown went into effect, I went into the woods and caused no harm to anyone. Also, I can't disagree with them that consuming marijuana as a God-given gift is less damaging than smoking, which progressive democracies are legalizing on a daily basis. The strange part is that it's being sold by police officers, and I purchased it from one of them. When it comes to cannabis users, I've noticed that they're all nice people who enjoy nature and have a lot of compassion for people and animals.
They also refused to tell me why they were imprisoned or for how long, despite the fact that the law merely required them to pay administrative fines. I believe that some of them are trying to make money off of me by sponsoring or discriminating against me because I am Catholic (the most suppressed religion because of opposition to the communist state). Until the 21st, I was housed in a separate room with 24-hour surveillance cameras. Because of the loss of my freedom, those were difficult and terrible days for me, but I must preserve this memories. Learn to face your worries, find delight in the ants in your room, the birds that fly freely outside your window through the bars, or count the tiles on your cell floor to solve them mind.
- This is my only and final photo of a dog named KI.
It isn't mine; it belongs to one of my friends. I frequently visit my friend's new coffee shop to play and sip coffee, and it frequently comes to stay with me. He's known as the quiet man since he doesn't appreciate other people petting him or taking pictures with him. It enjoys the solitude and frequently sits with me, simply staring out the window at the busy street. We kept her company modest and non-competitive, and I admired her for it. When a buddy informed me that it had been taken, all hope of locating it after placing flyers everywhere had been dashed. The practice of taking dogs to murder meat for horrible individuals who consume animals that are close to humans is still prevalent in this country(where intellectuals do not yet account for the majority of the population). I'm heartbroken and miss that friend.
- This is a photo of me finding my way out of the dense woodland after getting lost and arriving at the location where I abandoned the car to walk down to the sea (March). Although the peninsula of Son Tra is not particularly large, the steep mountain slopes are rocky, and the forest is densely forested with thorny shrubs. At 3 p.m., after work, I went to find a secret trail that only a few people knew about. Because they cut the forest themselves, only competent foresters and fishers use that trail. When passing over rugged terrain, it's easy to lose track and must be marked with a plastic bottle or a fabric string tied to a tree (which I didn't realize at the time).
And when it was almost dark, I was busy playing in the subjective sea and dropped the only water bottle on the deep rock. There was no light and limited visibility in the dark woodland with trees overhead. I lost track of time and became disoriented. Calming my thoughts, I likewise traversed the forest, sneaked through the shrubs and large rocks blocking the road, and found my way back to the car after more than an hour.
- This photo was taken when I organized a bike trip for my group after the city's lockdown had been lifted for more than a month.
It also acts as a birthday present for our leader, the one and only woman who lovingly guides us. She divorced her boyfriend and raised her children alone, therefore the cycling group members have become her second family. Her main qualities are optimism and passion, and we adore and admire her for being the national referee for national cycling competitions. People gained a lot of feelings and experiences from the trials of overcoming obstacles and immersing themselves in a valley of hidden green grass, which I hosted in a valley location behind a really beautiful freshwater lake. mellow and peaceful That day, the members' grins were the most precious asset.
- This photo is an opportunity for me to visit my hometown with my family to ring in the new year (Vietnam celebrates the traditional New Year according to the lunar calendar usually in February of the solar calendar). My younger brother (12 years old) was in a cast at the time due to a broken arm, but I hauled my tent up to the roof to give him a fresh experience. Because of the typical oriental tile architecture, there are no stairs leading up to our home. We had to climb a ladder to get there. That day, he and I lit fireworks, gazed at the moon, talked, and researched the fighting strategies of Europe's medieval fortifications.
When he takes on the job of commander of the warriors protecting the stronghold, he has a lot of information and a lot of ideas. I couldn't find a technique to successfully destroy his castle when I lost that day. The next day, he was supposed to get his arm out of the cast, but he had to put it back in for another half-month due to too much activity with me, such as climbing up and down the ladder with one hand while the fracture was still healing. But he was still ecstatic with his time with me.
For me, those are the most amazing and relevant memories from the previous year; each one provides a new viewpoint and useful experience that I treasure in my daily quest for progress. And make every effort to make life better. It's also good to be able to communicate critical information on the Hive platform after being unable to do so on previous social media platforms that were banned, monitored, and crawled.
Thanks everyone. All images are taken with personal phones Samsung Note FE and LG V50 ThinQ.
