The first picture is a creative window design. Although the artist or worker was limited with using bricks, he still was able to make a double "Xi" character,-** 囍** meaning "wedding" and "luck".
This building really lucked out. It was converted into a cafe. Of course, the building is so small, it could never provide a profitable revenue. They have kept everything beautiful.
Here is the actual cafe area. There is barely enough room for the three workers behind the counter. There are a few seats inside and a few outside.
This is an ancient heavy wooden door with lock. It still functions.
Here are additional decorations. In the color pictures, you can really see the smoothness of the worn wood.
This explains the outside area. It is comprised of very twisted alleys to protect the houses from the winds.
Outside the cafe and on the way to the temple, we ran into an old monk. He is walking very slow and reciting mantras.
