I fell into this cave, literally.
A few months ago, I headed out in the Kosciuszko backcountry here in Australia to do some camping & soak in the mountain air. As the sun was setting one afternoon we headed out to a rocky outcrop to look for compositions.
After walking around I was feeling pretty bummed because I could see the sky starting to burn & was running out of time to lock down a composition.
As I was scrambling between rocks I misplaced my foot & fell down a hole - thankfully I was uninjured - but as it turned out I'd actually fallen through the roof of a small cave. To my left was an opening to the valley where the sun was setting. I literally fell into this composition.
The shot is called 'Rohirrim' after the horse lords of Middle Earth because along with a really cool sunset I also managed to capture a couple of wild Brumbies chewing some grass in the valley.
Shot details:
- 3 shots at 16mm, f16, 1.3sec all focus stacked
