X marks the spot!

Getting up early on the mountain when it’s freezing is a pain, there's nothing more you want to do than stay cozy in your sleeping bag...buuuut getting up & out is usually worth the effort.

On this morning I didn’t have a composition in mind, only a rough idea of an area where I wanted to be at sunrise.

While I was waiting for the sun to rise I got some nice star images but nothing that I was happy with.

After seeing some sharp rock structures & realising the sun was going to hit the side of them I did my best to find a foreground that would suit. Eventually, I stumbled on an X pattern on the grass and waited until the sunrise did its thing! - Hope you enjoy!
