Hello everybody! Ancient architecture fascinates with its history and style. Each of the architectural structures has an extraordinary style that changes depending on the location. I visited the capital of ancient Polesie, the territory that belonged to the Drevlyans and Dregovichi, and its historical capital - Pinsk. I took some photos of the main attractions of the ancient Eastern European city.
In my opinion, the main attraction of the Polesie territory can be considered the St. Feodorovsky Cathedral. This beautiful building was built in honor of the patron saint of the city, Theodore Tyrone ..
Each part of the building is an architectural masterpiece of the church that stands out from many others.
The height of the tallest dome is 55 meters, and there are 12 beautiful bells in total.
The second impressive historical building is the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Great name and great church building.
The Church of the Virgin Mary is one of three churches bearing the title of minor basilica in Belarus.
Around the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary there are many beautiful centuries-old oak trees. In addition, the cathedral was damaged during the Second World War. Memorials to the victims have been erected around it.
Every part of this architectural creation looks impressive. Whichever side you look at the cathedral, it will be a wonderful sight.
The architects created the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary majestic. The building has not lost its relevance in our time and is the oldest cultural landmark.
But apart from the church buildings, I would like to mention an equally interesting building - the Jesuit Collegium. The building of the collegium was built in the 17th century on a historical site.
The Jesuit Collegium combines Renaissance and Baroque architectural styles. However, over time, the building has lost its original appearance.
However, if you look closely, the "spirit of antiquity" remained in this historical place.
The building looks more impressive from a distance.
Next to the building of another Jesuit collegium, a statue of the famous 19th century character who went down in history is walking silently. But that's a completely different story.
Photos are able to display not only the beauty of the present, but also allow you to see the beauty of the past. Architecture is a wonderful "time capsule" that can allow us to get acquainted with the history of our ancestors. And photography is a great way to share interesting things with others at any distance. I hope you enjoyed it.
