Not being able o sleep until not much after 5am is a real pain in the arse, although when you are on holiday it does have it's benefits.
I'd been contemplating getting up for sunrise one morning while I am here in Norfolk, but I'm also trying to turn my body clock around and trying to get more than 4-5 hours of sleep, anyhow, it didn't work today and so after trying, I decided to get up and watch the sunrise.
I was so surprised as the sun rise was directly behind the windfarm that is just off the coast to where I am staying, I know it's not planned when they built the windfarm, but the sun is perfectly aligned behind them, well, at least this time of year.
After I got these epic shots I headed back to the caravan, had breakfast and then headed to a boat yard as to where I was hiring a boat for the day to go onto the Norfolk Broads.
I didn't take too many pictures as I was too busy concentrating steering the boat and trying to make it go in the direction I wanted it to travel in. It took a while to get used to it, and it was very daunting passing the sailing boats as these had right of way and zig zagged in front of you, thankfully they were more experienced than I was and pointed in the right direction to which to get passed.
If you live in the UK, you'll realise the steering wheel is at the wrong side lol, what I missed the most was mirrors to see if there was any boats behind before I made a U-Turn etc, thankfully that's what passengers come in useful for.
This was a lovely place to moor up, a wide stathe in the middle of no where, we spent about an hour here, had some sandwiches and a cup of coffee, thankfully the boat had a kettle on it. I felt so much more confident once I'd had something to eat and drink.
My dog Charlie, sadly they have to get old, he was very nervous about getting on the boat and I had to pick him up and put him on, once he found a place he liked to lay down on, he was fine.
Here's Charlie's sister, Holly, they are from the same litter, and are 12 years old now, never been apart since they were born, as you can see she is a lady of leisure and found one of the seats to be rather comfy, she was there most of the boat trip.
Here's a scary photo, here's me, you an see why I normally stay behind the camera lol, anyhow, this was me exploring the river bank, although you could only go on a thin part of the bank, there was no paths to walk anywhere, but due to the diversity of wildlife in this part of the world, you don't want to disturb the animals.
Overall I've had a great day, back at the caravan now and it feels like it's rocking like the boat, which normally happens when you've had a day on the water lol.
Not my usual post, but I still hope you've enjoyed it.
Thanks for reading,
All the best :-)
