I've been waiting all week for a nice sunset, and finally got one. The days had been starting out nice, but by the evening, it had fully clouded over and had rubbish light.
Finally, Sunday came around and I got what I wanted, the winds had dropped by the evening which let me get the drone up to do some beautiful landscape/sunset shots.
Penny Hill windfarm is about a 10 minute drive from where I live, and can be seen from my bedroom window, so when I saw the perfect light, I got in from my Mum's, picked the drone up and headed straight up there, not wanting to miss the nice light.
My girlfriend even decided to go up there with me, as I approached I saw a car where I wanted to park and I said to my gf "Oh bugger" (ok slightly stronger than that, but being polite lol).
I was tempted to carry on driving, but I thought "Nope, I'm here now, get done what you came for". I park across the road from the other car, and walked over, it was a lady and her daughter basically doing the same as what I was up there for, I'd noticed someone had dropped their litter there, instead of taking it, the woman said "some dirty get has just left their rubbish here", I replied that "they ruin it for everyone, it doesn't hurt to take it home and put it in a bin".
Anyhow we chatted for a bit and I said "I hope you are ok, I'm just going to fly the drone to get some shots", she said "ooh cool!", and then continued to ask me questions of how far/high etc it went.
You really don't realise just how big these are, until you see people near them, it really sets the scale. Can you see the two people?
I spent a good half hour there flying the drone, until the sun disappeared behind a big blanket of cloud, I was hoping the the high altitude clouds would turn the deep orange colour that we all love, but sadly, the cloud bank was just too high for the sun to have any effect on those clouds.
I'm more than happy with the shots I got though, even thought it wasn't the sunset I wanted, it was still a pretty good one.
That's about it from me today, but I really hope that you've liked my blog.

Thanks for reading, and hope you loved the pics too.
All the best :-)
