As I had a 3pm finish at work, I'd been planning on getting on the moors for some photography, the heather is blooming at the moment and I wanted to get the lovely pink flowers in the shot, as most of the time you only get different shades of brown, the flowers only last a couple of weeks so time was at the essence.
I headed up to a place called Surprise View, I've been there 3 or 4 times in the past, and I always get swept away by the views. I arrived around 4.45pm and the car park was pretty busy, and so was the area, I took the drone, but it was a bit too windy to fly, however, it's a good chance I did take the drone as I'd forgot to charge my camera battery, thankfully the battery charger for the drone came in handy as I plugged my camera's charger into it to give me a bit of charge while I was walking up to Surprise View.

I think they call the above rock by the name Mother Cap, it is a massive piece of rock sticking out of the ground, sadly the pictures don't really justify the size.
The views from here are spectacular all around, it's great for milkyway shooting too, something I hope to get done on here in the not too distant future.
As I was on the top of the hill, a lady and gent asked me if I had dropped my jacket, in which I realised I had, they told me where it was and rushed to go and get it, on my way back the lady shouted me and came over as I'd forgot some camera bits I was messing with, so I want to thank the couple for their help, otherwise I'd have been freezing as the wind got cold and stronger as the day went on.

On the above shot, this lady was with another photographer that I was talking to, he was telling me about just how busy the place was at the same time last week, there were a few people around, but not half as busy as I expected it would be, I had to take thsi shot as I think it adds to the composition I had lined up, so thank you to the lady for being my unsuspecting model lol.
As I'd set up my final shot, I was awaiting for the sun to illuminate the rock I'd been shooting all afternoon, sadly it never did, so I turned my camera around and decided to look over the vally towards Castleton, there were some lovely sun rays, although not the best sunset I've seen, nevertheless it was a beautiful sight.
After that I decided to head home, sadly the clouds were just too thick to change the cloudbank coming over to that glorious pink and red colour.
